At one point or another I’m sure you’ve heard that boosting your metabolism is key to helping you regulate and maintain your weight

And while I’m not denying that fact, I can tell you the intention behind that information was more than likely in support of you believing that you indeed need to focus on your body as an issue.

Which you don’t

In fact, if you are constantly focused on your body as an issue, and using restrictive efforts to try and control your weight, you are causing stress chemistry in your body that keeps your metabolism from working properly.

So basically, as long as you’re dieting, your metabolism is jacked

You might be thinking I’m crazy-that you’ve been told as long as you are eating the “right” things and exercising in the “right” way you are doing your body good, but 1. Metabolism isn’t just about what you are putting into your body and how you are moving it. It is also affected by thoughts and emotion. And 2. Most of the information we have out there about eating right and exercising is complete bull.

If all you are doing is living your life to lose weight or look a certain way, something is missing. You are probably always feeling like the goal you have is just out of reach, or you can touch it but then it goes away. Maybe there is some kind of emptiness there that just won’t give up. This is because dieting will never make you whole, and there is work that needs to be done in not just the mental and emotional realm, but the spiritual realm too.

All of which are keys to a healthy metabolism

Our metabolisms are literally what function to keep us alive. We WANT them to be at full capacity. So it is important that we do know how they work for us, and what we need to do to support their proper functioning.

By knowing how to work with our metabolisms we can experience;

  • Increased digestion

  • Increased muscle building

  • Increased calorie burning

  • Healthier skin

  • More brain power

  • The opportunity to begin naturally letting go of any excess weight we are holding onto due to environmental factors, such as stress

    (And so much more!)

But it is important that we receive this information and apply it in our lives from a place of love for our bodies, not hate.

My name is Meghan Briana and I am a Mind & Body Eating Coach, certified by the Institute for the Psychology of Eating.  I personally specialize in working with heart centered women who are looking to heal their relationships with food, body, and life.
